PORTRAIT AS A GIFT

Doing portraits, especially of children ,can be gratifying and challenging experience.I t is even harder when a painting is a surprise gift for a special occasion, since this has to be done from a photo.
However, when it works, everyone is happy, and a portrait becomes a part of family history.

THINKING ABOUT THINKING

After a few days of traveling I am in a process of setting up a temporary studio in a nearby apartment, while my real studio to be is undergoing renovations.
Ahead a few days of organizing and rethinking -while organizing is not one of my strongest points,I always love thinking process, even thinking about thinking is fun.
As Oscar Wilde said in ''The Ideal Husband''-''but I love thinking about nothing-this is the only thing I know anything about.''
And you-what do you like yo think about?

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO READ?

I always liked to read books and everywhere I go,I would be buying a lot of books .
Now,when the luggage allowance is very limited,it is much harder to choose just one or two books to take with me from Toronto to Madeira.
So,if you had to take only one book -what would it be?

HOW TO DISCOVER A MEANING OF LIFE

In a neverending quest to discover a meaning of Life we often have deep conversations, asking questions and searching for answers.
But sometimes perhaps it is enough just to enjoy a moment of our day and to discover a simple pleasure of just being alive-here and NOW.

HOW DO YOU FIND A SOLUTION?

When you are faced with some problem, minor or major,-how do you normally find a solution to it?
One of my favorite ways is to talk to some of great philosophers of the past-Plato,for example.
This way you can emotionally detached yourself from a situation and find the best possible outcome for everyone involved.
This painting was inspired by reading Plato and imagining his academy in Athens.

a small bar with just four stooles and a couple of tables-a favorite place for locals to have a shot of espresso or "Tintoretto"-Prosecco with freshly squeezed pomergranate juce.
